I know the pain of losing a son to senseless gun violence, and there are just absolutely no words that can bring back your son.

And just to continue to honor the legacy of the loved one that they`ve lost and know that we`re fighting as hard as we can out here in Congress to make sure that we`re honoring their lives with gun safety legislation.

The debate over gun safety and saving lives is far more important than any procedural discussions that we might be having, anything that might stall the ability for us to be able to get this legislation passed.

If we know that over 90 percent of the American public believe in this legislation, believe in this policy, then we need to make sure that we do everything in our power to get this passed in the Senate.

And in fact, the three school districts that are part of my congressional district here in Georgia, will be receiving about 676 million dollars from this vital legislation, and I couldn't be more happy for my district.

I do want to say though that this month President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, giving schools across the country the funding and the resources that they so desperately need to make it through the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the new and improved methods of prevention have been discovered over the years, so too has the link between intimate partner violence and gun violence.

Since it was first authorized in 1984, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act has provided the resources and funding necessary for shelters and organizations to help survivors of domestic and dating violence.

Importantly, this funding will help culturally specific organizations outreach to underserved communities of color, which have been disproportionally affected by the pandemic.

I am concerned that a subscription might be considered a luxury in households already making tough financial decisions due to COVID.

We need to know about the State of the pandemic in our communities, and we need to know who in our community is eligible to take a vaccine and how they can get one.

It was critical to have reporters and news sources who continue to focus on getting accurate information to voters well beyond November.

I know that we have got to do more to save lives from drug addiction and overdoses, using the tools of public health and improvements to our justice system.

We need to be talking to them and giving them the services that they tell us on a daily basis that they need.

Unfortunately, as we have mentioned, the CDC research shows that the opioid deaths have accelerated under the COVID-19 pandemic.

At their core, hate crimes and domestic terrorism are attacks on who we are, where we come from, what we believe, and the democratic values that unite us as Americans.

I sense that grave unfairness that you are speaking about. So, do you agree that the FAIR Act is necessary to stop the dominant companies, like Amazon, from facilitating and covering up any mistreatment of individuals in small businesses…

It is critical that no one is forced out of court before their case, their claim, or their mistreatment even arises.

Passing the FAIR Act is about making sure that you have a choice.

This is about a member stalking the children of tragedy, attacking survivors and threatening violence. This is about a member denying the existence of dead children at Sandy Hook Elementary and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

What happens to them happens and it's representative of what happens to America.

Every single one of us needs to make sure that we have a better future in store for our families and our communities.
