It's easy to talk about closing the economy when you're with the Federal Government and you continue getting paid all the time.

Our collective resolve to flatten the curve in that regard has nonetheless paid a tremendous cost to our economy.

We can as well in a safe manner.

We have a duty to be here in Washington and to serve the people who elected us.

I continue to have grave reservations about these online hearings. This is no way to do the people's business.

It's utter foolishness for us to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Disbanding or abolishing law enforcement is not now, nor will it ever be the solution.

But the movement right now to defund the police departments, this movement from the left, to me, right now is particularly disturbing.

This is just nothing more than political theater to come here and somehow pretend as though these were peaceful protesters

What is the range of that device when it comes to warning the crowd?

If we are looking to lay blame, those are the individuals you should cast as the villains in this plot.

Even just the nature of today's title, that somehow the U.S. Park Police attacked peaceful protesters is ludicrous.

Perhaps this is the story line's plot twist where this Committee focuses on facts instead of political points.

My hope is that we will be able to see beyond the biased scope through which the Democrats are viewing these actions and establish a truthful history of what happened on that day.

This is even acknowledged by the Democrats' second panel witness in his written testimony, which states that the witness learned that Federal law enforcement officers from Park Police and U.S. Secret Service had sustained injuries.

This is an issue that we have to resolve, not with just a bailout of $25 billion. They have $9 billion sitting in the bank over there. This is our time to be responsible with the people's money, and I urge my colleagues not to support this…

Our Special Operations warriors and our conventional forces who went out after 9/11 and fought to defend the cause of freedom and further the interest of the U.S. Government, we ought to be cared for.

I really believe that we are in a unique opportunity right now... to come together on an issue like this.

I want to assure each of you that we hear you and we are taking this issue very seriously.

We have got to understand discrimination goes both ways and deeply held religious beliefs impact the way people daily live, and any attempt to eradicate that is, in itself, discriminatory.

The worst competition for a totalitarian form of government is for its people to believe in a power that is greater than government.

Our founders thought it was problematic and that is why they put in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, in order to protect religious liberty.

Upholding the First Amendment is not an absurdity train. Protecting the religious liberties of the people of this great country is not in any way absurd.

I would go with what he has to say about the ability of LGBT couples to parent and to foster.

Under President Trump, the Federal Government has sought to treat all Americans, gay or straight, religious, nonreligious fairly and justly.
