Rudy Giuliani said after September 11 that he felt like Winston Churchill felt when London was under attack. Today the folks all over Israel, not just in any particular city or pocket, must have that same feeling. They have now suffered over 18 months of terrorist attacks that have killed over 400 of their citizens, injured thousands, and distressed millions. As a father of four, it is hard for me to say good-bye to my children on a Friday or Saturday night when they leave the house at 7:30 at night, and I am worried about them driving on the road with accidents. I cannot imagine what an Israeli parent or counterpart feels when saying good-bye to their children who are going to go to a discotec or some other public place, and can just imagine living in a country where so many people have died in such a short period of time. Since the September 11 attacks, the American people have understood the terrorist menace. Israel has been living under this for nearly 50 years off and on.

I want to point out on Israel and that, you know, that bothered me, but Israel's never had a better friend in the White House, and I think you get that from Israel.
