“Okay, Mr. Speaker, and I will not use this one again. However, it does show a particular philosophy of a body that wants to spend money rather than a body that wants to preserve and protect jobs. And I think if maybe there is a real difference between being a Democrat and being a Republican that is reflected in the Republicans running the House and the Democrats running the other body, it is in the economic security bill. Because here we are standing strong with jobs, standing strong with laid-off workers for benefits, for health care benefits and for unemployment checks, and yet this other body, controlled by the other party, is sitting on it and saying we would rather you do spending bills than an economic stimulus package. I think that is egregious and totally irresponsible in today's economy.”
