“You know what is interesting about all these folks who are supporting all the big lobbyists interests is that they keep saying there is over 400,000 jobs related to sugar, yet the USDA says it is only 46,000. So all this talk about jobs is losing me, Mr. Chairman. But what is wrong with working without a refinery? Mr. Chairman, 10 years ago we had 22 refiners in America. Today we have 11. What is it about these people that one job is better than the other? There is room for compromise on this, Mr. Chairman. We need the Miller-Schumer-Kingston amendment.”
