I think one thing that is interesting, as we talk taxes, two things about the administration, first, as a candidate the President promised a middle-class tax cut. That was part of his platform. That was one of the main planks of his platform as a candidate in 1992. Speaking in Houston, TX, October 17, the President said, ``Many people are still mad about the 1993 budget,'' and they think he raised taxes too much. Now I quote, ``It might surprise you to know that I think I raised them too much, too,'' the President said. So, you know, here we have a candidate who said he was going to give a middle-class tax cut; then we have a President who 2 months ago said, ``I think that I raised taxes too much.''
