The left has kept saying all along, why didn't the president just call, pick up the phone and ask the FBI or the Justice Department if he was being wiretapped.
I just say when anybody starts arguing the process in the U.S. Senate, it is a cop-out, I think he just wanted to vote no, and he found that's a convenient excuse.
It's always a good idea. Everybody would say that. But I think also the animosity towards Donald Trump by the establishment has been so great that candidates usually don't get the kind of scrutiny he does.
You can't fight a special prosecutor. You can't fight a federal judge when you get in their bull's eye and then you're more likely to talk.
