My dear friend from Texas has worked diligently to find something to work out with this. As I had indicated to her last night, we're trying to work on some alternatives and see if there's a way to do it. Just in the last 30 minutes, I've gotten something from GAO that says that you could actually cut out $45 million dollars from this program and that it would not affect the potential of it. Right now what I will do--and I know my friend from California is rising. Let me yield to him because I know he probably has a different view, but I want to kind of keep the debate going.

Every Republican, whether he ran for a dog catcher or school board or president -- they all ran on repeal and replace. So they have to do something.
What Mr. McCain did to the Republican Party today is a guy who was the standard bearer in '08, somebody I worked for, somebody that all of us have worked for at one time or another. You know, he let us down, he let us down as a party.
These kids are not disrespecting any flag. They're not disrespecting any anthem. They are going down to their government and they are petitioning for redress of grievance.
It's always a good idea. Everybody would say that. But I think also the animosity towards Donald Trump by the establishment has been so great that candidates usually don't get the kind of scrutiny he does.
