I want my colleagues to pay real close attention to what the Pombo amendment is saying. It simply says, if they are a landowner and they are next door to Federal land, then their property rights should not be diminished. For crying out loud, this is a no-brainer. Is this not the United States of America? ... We are saying, if they own private land next to private land, their rights should not be diminished and this is being rejected by people who have sworn an oath of loyalty to the Constitution of America? ... But I cannot believe it. My friend and colleagues are saying, no, no, no. We are the Government and there are things the common people do not understand, because we are Washington and we have the franchise on this intellectual elitism that is going to run the country in the new world order and we do not want fellow Americans to enjoy the right of pursuit of happiness and property. This is a sad day, my colleagues.

It's always a good idea. Everybody would say that. But I think also the animosity towards Donald Trump by the establishment has been so great that candidates usually don't get the kind of scrutiny he does.
