The amount--what you learn by being able to monitor precisely someone's location over a period of time can reveal all kinds of sensitive things.

The level of intrusion, unwarranted and unconsented intrusion into people's private affairs--their location, their sensitive data, a variety--is something that we need to guard against.

The fact is, modern digital technology has great benefits, but it does open up the potential for great access into people's private affairs.

If we don't establish firm guidelines to indicate that our private information is still private, even in our increasingly digital and interconnected age, Americans will end up forfeiting rights that we have held dear for a long time.

You are talking about a surveillance, monitoring capability which can be very detailed, very intrusive.

I firmly believe that the United States must continue its full-throated support of freedom of expression worldwide.
