I hope my Republican friends will understand that this economic situation we are in is because of COVID-19.

thank goodness for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, because at the end of the Trump Administration, we lost, initially, 21 million jobs.

We have had this problem with homelessness. We have had it all along. But now it has been exacerbated. Why? Because of COVID-19.

Please, please, Treasury Secretary, please Federal Reserve Chair, all of us need to hurry up.

We need to use them right now because so many of our people cannot get the money quickly.

There are great dangers to our financial services system when non-financial, non-verified information posted on social media platforms has more market influence than what is disclosed through our regulated process.

This is why I have said over and over that this hearing is perhaps our most critical, because folks, as you well know, we can do without a lot of things, but we cannot survive without food.

We are, indeed, the greatest country in the world.

If we work together as Democrats and Republicans, we will find the real solution to hunger in our great nation.

It rings sometimes a little hollow to me when I did not hear the same speech when the Republicans did their tax giveaway of about $1.9 trillion to the wealthiest Americans.

It is unthinkable that we have over one million of our veterans going hungry.

We have, ladies and gentlemen, an extraordinary crisis on our hands confronting our nation, and that is a hunger crisis.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is our responsibility. This is our charge this morning, and we are going to need help and also, we are going to need the almighty hand of God to help lead us together as Democrats and Republicans to solve this…

There is no Committee up here that is more highly regarded to deal with the issue of hunger and food security than our House Agriculture Committee.

We urge you to support policy that advances pioneering technology breakthroughs.

We need everybody's help to get this bill called up and passed.

I introduced my Financial Inclusion in Banking Act, which addresses some of what you just said.

Unfortunately, Black households experience home foreclosure at the highest rate in this country.

Only 17 of our State public school systems offer one course in financial education.

The American people are crying out. Congress help us. America is hungry. America is sick. And America is calling on you Republicans. Just love your people. Take care of your people.

the people of this country appreciate you for pulling this Financial Services hearing together because this is a threat to the future of our financial system, and we have to get to the bottom of it.

Don't you see and agree that something very wrong happened here and that you are at the center of it?

Don't you see something has gone terribly wrong here?

But this episode exposes a serious threat to our financial system when tweets and social media posts do more to move the market than material, legitimate information, and this is enormous.

So, Mr. Anthony, I want you to comment on how important it is.
