We passed a bill that requires monthly payments for the job tax credit to 48 million families.

This is a very timely and very important hearing. I have been on this committee during my entire 19 years in Congress, and I have been working on this issue to find a solution.

It was very important. This was her first chance to come before this committee, and she deserves to have this opportunity on her own.

I am so proud of you. You and I served together in the House for many years, and you are doing a wonderful job as Secretary.

Unfortunately, wage increases will not keep pace, creating real hardship for people on fixed incomes, retirees, and many of our low-income households.

I agree that a return to a more stable inflation rate would indeed be advantageous to our economy.

The impact this has on a young borrower's credit score can--and does--have long-term consequences.

Perhaps the most paralyzing issue in this that we can address quickly, coming up with some answers, deals with student loan debt.

Our credit reporting agencies are not perfect, but American consumers stand to benefit far more if we improve our existing, competitive, private-sector system, than if we centralize the financial data at a government bureaucracy.

This is a very serious racial issue.

Their actions in the markets this past week are indicative of who they are as a bad trade partner.

Could still result in significant tax burdens on family farming operations.

We are seeking your support in reauthorizing this vital and essential educational program.
