I thank my colleague for taking this moment to recognize the life of Laken Hope Riley. Mr. Speaker, parents and communities across the State of Georgia are extremely shocked, heartbroken, and outraged about the murder of Laken Hope Riley…

It is the role of the Legislative Branch to make the laws; and the role of the various agencies and departments and bureaus under the Executive Branch to carry out those laws that Congress makes.

I think it is important that we keep that in mind.

Whether it is perception or reality, people have to have confidence in their elections.
