“I thank my colleague, Mr. David Scott, for coordinating this tribute to Jocelyn Dorsey. I am honored to recognize Jocelyn Dorsey, who is being inducted into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, for her steadfast commitment to journalism excellence. Jocelyn has served the Atlanta, Georgia, region for over 40 years in her reporting for WSB-TV. During her career, she has been recognized for her work ethic and devotion to the field of journalism. Jocelyn's commitment to excellence quickly advanced her career, and she has served as the director of editorial and public affairs at Channel 2 since 1983. She has received numerous awards for her work with WSB-TV, including seven Southeast Regional Emmys for Editorial Excellence from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Jocelyn was also the first woman and the first African American to receive the Georgia Association of Broadcasters' Citizen of the Year Award, which is a lifetime achievement award. Her work speaks for itself, but she is more than a reporter, anchor, and director. Jocelyn is the mother of two sons and is a grandmother. She is also an active volunteer in her community, and she rode her Harley-Davidson around the country, raising thousands of dollars for the Special Olympics of Georgia.
