Ted Yoho is a former U.S. Representative from Florida, serving in the House from January 3, 2013, to January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Yoho represented Florida's 3rd congressional district. During his time in office, he was known for his focus on issues such as healthcare, agriculture, and fiscal responsibility. Yoho was also a member of the House Freedom Caucus, which advocates for limited government and conservative principles.
I am a co-sponsor of the BURMA Act which would impose sanctions on those responsible for the atrocities against the Rohingya.
The Rohingya need to return to their homeland soon. The Burmese Government needs to provide them with dignity, safety, and citizenship documents.
I think we can thank the Chinese for that--extrajudicial killings in the Philippines, or rampant human trafficking in Thailand and elsewhere, these abuses are serious and continue to threaten the peace and stability of the entire region.
I would like to especially welcome Mrs. Nguyen whose story I have followed for about a year.
I look forward to seeing this bill move through the Senate and eventually become law, and I truly believe that will happen this Congress, allowing the U.S. to finally hold Hun Sen and his despicable regime accountable.
The human rights situation there is appalling. Thousands of persons...have been killed extrajudicially by authorities at pretty much the urging of President Duterte.
We are working it through the Senate and we look forward to having that signed this year.
