John Mica

John Mica is a former U.S. Representative who served Florida's 7th congressional district from 1993 to 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Mica was known for his work on transportation and infrastructure issues, playing a significant role in shaping policies related to these areas during his tenure. He was also involved in various legislative efforts aimed at improving the economy and supporting local businesses in Florida. Mica's long career in public service included a focus on constituent services and community engagement.
Well, again, with more mandates, the cost, the premiums are more. So they have shafted as many as 5.5 million in their premiums.
In my State, which has many, many senior citizens residing in Southwest Florida, their primary oncologist provider was the Moffitt Hospital. That has been dropped.
But these people who had existing plans now have been notified that they are not getting them, with the new mandates in that.
What we are seeing is absolute turmoil in the marketplace. Seniors, they are the most vulnerable in our society and probably need the most medical coverage.
The longer I stay here, the longer I am convinced that government could screw up a two car funeral and, if given the opportunity, often does.
But couldn't it have been done by changing some of the requirements and then letting competition and the private sector, existing mechanism rather than big government take it over?
I want them to come and see this facility that we are going to put 655 of their brothers and sisters in, and then leave them in what I consider a dump.
It is essential we have a cost benefit analysis, of course. But once we do, we also have to look at some other questions here.
What I want to discuss today is the possibility of finishing the consolidation, bringing all the FTC into a modern complex.
So, again, in talking to Mr. Moran and others, the appropriators, that he is not a very happy camper.
