John Mica

John Mica is a former U.S. Representative who served Florida's 7th congressional district from 1993 to 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Mica was known for his work on transportation and infrastructure issues, playing a significant role in shaping policies related to these areas during his tenure. He was also involved in various legislative efforts aimed at improving the economy and supporting local businesses in Florida. Mica's long career in public service included a focus on constituent services and community engagement.
We held that hearing, for the information of those here, I believe it was in February.
I want to take full responsibility if Congress is tying your hands or the law doesn't allow you the flexibility you need.
I love Mr. Goldstein, he is great, but he is sort of like--I saw the forensic school down here.
Back to some of your testimony, Mr. Smith. You talked about the savings on space, disposing of excess space or properties.
Again, Mr. Smith, what we are trying to do is figure out how long this is going to take or if we can expedite it.
But again, what I want to envision is that by June or six months, I don't know, from this date, what is going to happen in what sequence?
I did a hearing in Washington at the vacant power station building behind the Ritz Carlton on some pretty valuable real estate.
So maybe you could supply the committee with some information on the savings and elimination of the programs at a time when we are trying to save money.
