This bill would ensure that when critically injured veterans need a new home... they will not be expected to pay for these home adaptations themselves.

Catastrophically injured veterans should not be obligated to pay for disability accommodations due to injuries sustained while service to this country.

I commend you for selecting Chairman Levin as the Chairman of the Economic Opportunity Committee; he is doing an outstanding job.

Our veterans only get one shot at it. And we want to make sure that they have the opportunity to make the best of it.

As the old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I am convinced that once appropriate mandatory offsets are identified, we should provide full restoration of entitlement to students whose school closed in the middle of the semester.

We must do what we can to limit the impact of these closures on student veterans and taxpayers.

It saddens me that we must be here today, and it saddens me to hear the stories of how school closures have continued to impact student veterans' dreams of earning their degree.

I agree with those who have said that the VR&E Program should be the crown jewel of benefits provided through the Veterans Benefits Administration; it is certainly needed.
