Today, we convene to review the fiscal year 2024 budget request for Federal maritime transportation programs.

Applicants also report a lack of communication and transparency from MARAD on where the process stands.

This was the first substantial overhaul of America's international ocean shipping laws in 24 years.

I hope that we can work with MARAD to ensure that these applications are processed in a timely fashion as is directed under law.

This Administration should be taking action to develop resources domestically before going out to our adversaries.
