Carlos Gimenez is an American politician and member of the Republican Party, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 26th congressional district since January 3, 2021. Prior to his election to Congress, he served as the Mayor of Miami-Dade County from July 1, 2011, until November 17, 2020. During his tenure as mayor, Gimenez focused on issues such as economic development, public safety, and infrastructure improvements in the county.

While I am supportive of the TSA workforce, many Members of our committee would prefer to take a targeted approach with potential pay increases.

It doesn't equate to me how 20 percent of the work force can cost as much as 80 percent of the work force.

I don't believe that Mr. Mayorkas is incompetent. I think that he is derelict in his duty because I think everything that he has done is actually done on purpose.
I'm particularly concerned about the use of Chinese technology and equipment, as well as the ports' industries overreliance on Chinese cranes.
As the former Mayor of Miami Dade, home to the Port of Miami, I understand personally how important ports can be to their local communities.
