Seventy thousand Americans are being killed every single year by fentanyl and we are doing nothing about it.

In September, September 11, 2001, terrorists killed around 3,000 Americans and we went 7,000 miles, and we waged war for 20 years because 3,000 Americans were killed.

Historically, our adversaries have targeted the United States in the High North to undermine our national security.

The Arctic is critically important to the United States' strategic interests.

The United States cannot afford to ignore this increased interest in the Arctic from near-peer competitors.

Do you know if the Chinese have something similar to that?

I believe that a cyber academy could do--could do the same thing, teaching best practices.

Yes, we need to do something about that, that we seem to have as a--as a Nation maybe this bias that somehow if you don't have that piece of paper, you may not be--be as good.

Yes. Look, we had discussions with some people that--some folks that were working in that space, and I asked them the question of where AI was.

I think we need to start, you know, letting people know about this.

But somehow it didn't hold me back. You know, I'm here in Congress for some reason. I must be lucky.

Somehow in this country, if you don't have a college degree, you are somehow stigmatized; that somehow you may not be as smart as somebody who has a college degree.

So I need to see--those folks that you're saying that are going to get a pay cut, what are they making?

While I am supportive of the TSA workforce, many Members of our committee would prefer to take a targeted approach with potential pay increases.

It is the responsibility of Congress to ensure that TSA and its workforce have the necessary resources to address various challenges and threats and keep Americans safe.

I would like to congratulate you on your recent confirmation for a second 5-year term to lead the TSA.

It doesn't equate to me how 20 percent of the work force can cost as much as 80 percent of the work force.

So how could 20 percent of the work force end up paying just as--costing just as much as the 80 percent of the work force?

I consider that to be a dereliction of duty. Children? 85,000? We don't know where they are.

He is derelict, without a doubt.

I don't believe that Mr. Mayorkas is incompetent. I think that he is derelict in his duty because I think everything that he has done is actually done on purpose.

I'm particularly concerned about the use of Chinese technology and equipment, as well as the ports' industries overreliance on Chinese cranes.

As the former Mayor of Miami Dade, home to the Port of Miami, I understand personally how important ports can be to their local communities.

Ports are essential to our way of life in the United States.
