As I recall, this committee was told there wouldn't be any bank failures like this if we created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). I am kind of shocked we are here if the CFPB was doing its job.
I think we want the United States and likeminded partners to take a leadership role in making sure that our values are instilled in AI global standards.

Why does FEMA continue to resist making all of the data and methods models that they use, the calculations and how they calculate it under Risk Rate 2.0, completely and fully transparent?
When I was first elected 14 years ago, they said that to properly evaluate risk, they needed new maps, which would cost $500 million, and then, it would take 3 to 5 years to evaluate the maps.
I would think once you paid for total loss, you say, okay this is off the map, we are not going to insure this property again, much less more than 10 times, thousands of properties, perhaps.
