Bill Nelson is an American politician and attorney who served as a United States Senator from Florida from 2001 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Florida's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. Does it seem to the Senator--Mr. President, if I may continue a question--does it seem to the Senator there is something eerily symmetrical here in the way there is always the cry that it is being rushed through the Senate Chamber? Did we…
Would the Senator believe the latest iteration of objection by the other side to this Wall Street reform effort is what I heard this morning: that they now say this legislation should not be rushed through the Senate? My question to the…
At a time when the investment in news gathering and reporting is declining, we need to 'first do no further harm' to the diversity of independent media voices.
And if we can ever get it sufficiently secure, we could also have our military, even in the field, be able to vote while they are overseas on assignment.
In my home State of Florida, extending broadband pipes to citizens is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity.

I would encourage you to, as one of your first things that you do, which I encouraged General Chilton to do the same thing, and I think he would reaffirm that this is good advice: Go visit the three national labs.
I'm very concerned that Hugo Chavez is going to play by the same playbook as Ahmadinejad.
I am also deeply concerned that this proposal will only widen the 'gap' in our manned space flight capability.
You could do unmanned in 3 years and then be ready to fly humans to the Space Station in 4 years.
I have serious concerns and grave misgivings about the proposal to rely strictly on commercial providers for U.S. manned space flight.
I think it's that important to the country that we ought to all work together to come up with solutions.
