Since I was going to do cleanup, I will defer that by submitting my questions, particularly to you, Chairman Pai, for the record.
Bill Nelson
The Public Record
Bill Nelson is an American politician and attorney who served as a United States Senator from Florida from 2001 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Florida's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. Nelson also held the position of Florida's Insurance Commissioner from 1995 to 1999, where he focused on consumer protection and insurance reform.
On behalf of Senator Nelson a letter to the Committee from the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights--Civil and Human Rights--raising concerns regarding the FCC's recent actions on Lifeline, media ownership, and a few other issues.
FCC rules should not be the means by which third parties gain, for their own commercial advantage, the ability to alter, add to, or interfere with programming provided by content providers
I would expect the FCC not to make any major changes on this vital program for students until after you evaluate it pursuant to the way it was set up in 2018.
it is imperative for the Senate leadership to live up to its promise and confirm her nomination with all dispatch.
the President's decision to pull her nomination last week, I think, was unfortunate.
the failure to confirm her in the last Congress... was a black mark on the Senate.
the success or failure of the Commission rests not on the fulfillment of wish lists, but on how those who are least able to protect themselves have been treated
the FCC has the responsibility to put the public interest ahead of powerful special interests.
I was pleased when the FCC implemented a new consumer complaints database system following a letter that Senator Nelson and I sent in 2014 to then Chairman Wheeler.
