To defend our nation and what it means is to defend religious freedom. To defend our Constitution is to defend religious freedom. To defend religious freedom is to defend ourselves, our future, and our very republic.

Religious freedom, as I’ve said, is a fundamental threat to authoritarianism, and it is because of our commitment to a freedom of faith that we are also, as a nation, committed to an equality of all.

This bill is about protecting what’s most personal to us, what makes us us: our voice and our likeness.

While a ceasefire and negotiations are a positive development, so far this war of choice has only made American service members and civilians less safe and left many key questions unanswered or unaddressed.

What inspections regime will there be and will the IAEA be involved?

How will we ensure Iran actually complies with any nuclear agreement between the U.S. and Iran if one is reached?

What will be the status of Iran’s enriched nuclear material stockpile and how will its enrichment capabilities be curtailed or ended?
