There are tangible results when we moved as a Congress on a bipartisan basis to give you the tools to succeed.

The finger-pointing and chest-thumping that goes on up here... is just totally inexcusable and unacceptable.

We need to act. We need to move forward on an Authorization of Use of Force.

The power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war, is fully and exclusively vested in the legislature, not the executive branch, but the legislature.

The sort of post-Cold War holiday in the undersea realm is over, and the world is changing.

The rest of the world has not sort of stayed frozen in the post-Cold War era

Over the last 7 or 8 years, with the help of both of our witnesses here, you know, we actually, I think, have sort of reasserted the priority of our undersea force

The submarines are going to cost less money than their predecessors while offering more capability.

Should we be looking at maybe trying to modify that proposal to, again, maximize the benefit of that modification?

We just don't lose that, you know, incredibly important edge that our country has in terms of the undersea domain

I mean, I think that would send a powerful message that there is real change happening if there is reforms that the government can really talk about.

Thank you, General, for your service and testimony here today. You have probably one of the most complex missions, I think, almost you could possibly even imagine.

I was wondering, just for the sake of members who, you know, maybe aren't as familiar with the type of missions...

So thank you to the witnesses for being here and your outstanding testimony.

It would allow mentally capable adult with physical disabilities to create the trust that Congress has recognized as an effective vehicle to hold assets.

That is exactly how the current law treats them, as though they were mentally incapable and incompetent to manage their own affairs.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman, and thank you for holding this hearing on our Air Force long-range strike capabilities.

We are the victim and the target of the aggression.

What perception, then, does the world take on that, a President that doesn't even have a majority of agreement in his own nation?

The American people do understand this is an existential threat we're talking about.

I checked the DOD [Department of Defense] manifest over the last couple of days where we have been flying about 30 to 40 air strikes a day.

Nothing in this agreement takes the military alternative off the table for this Congress or this country today, or 15 years from today.
