We were always going to be talking about a certain period of time, and then the world being different after that period of time.

We cannot ignore the lack of coherent American leadership in the region.

It really felt like what we were doing is helping create a better country for Iran in Iraq.

The United States is Assad's air force in Syria and Iran's Air Force in Iraq.

The administration has implemented a string of incoherent and self-defeating policies.

I really think the President's deal is a more sound and sensible path forward.

I think it leaves us weakened.

The quickest way that the United States can deploy more personnel is through the military.

My hope is, especially with this new allocation of significant resources in the omnibus, that this is going to be maybe the pinnacle of success stories in terms of how the United States exerts influence around the world.

I do not think this is a charade. I think whether or not we pass this through the House and through the Senate in the next few days, this has been a forcing mechanism.

I do think there is a difference in terms of what we believe ISIS to be.

I believe the Murphy-Collins legislation is an important next step to building on the work we've done here at home.

I've been proud to work with former Senator Voinovich and Senator Inhofe on reducing black carbon pollution from our diesel engines.

I look forward to testimony today.

I am heartened to see the Administration work with industry and the international community to reduce HFCs here at home and globally.

The world today is more complicated, more dangerous than at any time during our lifetimes.

They are on the verge of becoming the world's first autonomous terrorist state if they are successful.

The Middle East seems largely immune from U.S. efforts to bend it to our will.

I hope that is not a reality that we are prepared to accept.

The oath that we all take to serve is a very serious one.

I would ask that the Senator modify his request to allow Senator Bennet to alternate with one of the Republican speakers in this series of remarks.

There are two fights here... to make sure that we have policies that give access to all employees for paid family leave.

It's not. It's an issue just as much for dads as well.
