Our veterans have earned the right to have timely access to comprehensive medical care in a facility that has all the resources necessary to provide the best care available.
The delays and cost overruns plaguing this project are deeply disturbing and represent a disservice to our nation's veterans and the American taxpayer.
I want to thank all of the veterans here today for their service to our country.
Are there smaller employers, either one of you, that may very well go under as a result of this mismanagement, in terms of the change order process?
I think it is more that it is an outdated facility that doesn't have the capability to handle the load that is coming down the pike.
How many disciplinary actions have been taken against those who have retaliated against whistleblowers?
On rollcall No. 153, I was unavoidably detained and unable to cast my vote. Had I been present, I would have voted ``yes.'' Stated against:

I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I think you are dedicated to not making a difference.
You ought to be outraged at the length of time it takes for VA to respond to the members of this committee.
Is a waiver obtained from the director for every surgical implant purchased on the open market?
Do the VA clinicians who sit on the board of biological implant vendors violate this statute?
It just seems to me, I mean, that there is an intentional effort to negate the rule by virtue of doing the smaller purchases.
I think that the entity you just referred to did $4 billion of business last year.
According to GAO's testimony, VHA has no oversight ensuring VAMCs check their inventory for and alert affected patients for recall products. Why is no oversight conducted to ensure this safety measure is carried out?
According to GAO, VA does not ensure that biological implant vendors are registered with the FDA. Is not a simple verification important for patient safety?
This bill recognizes the tremendous problems associated with VA major construction projects.
So when the GAO report says that these major medical construction projects are delayed an average of 35 months each with an average overrun of $360 million each, you differ with GAO and you say that you can produce accounting standards…
This legislation requires the VA to use the Army Corps of Engineers as the special project manager.
Unfortunately, I think sometimes politics gets in the way within VA, within the community, within Congress.
I just think it is so disgraceful how our Gulf War veterans have been treated on this issue.
