Where are the American forces to save you? Where are their helicopters? Where are their airplanes? You helped them for a decade. Where are they now?

We want to grow jobs. We want to grow innovation.

I think this hearing was a perfect example of that.

The mom and pop shops on the corner are oftentimes run by immigrants and refugees and it really is kind of like the lifeblood of our economy.

I represent the most diverse district in the state of Colorado, one of the most diverse in the Nation.

We would expect this administration to comply in good faith with the intent of that law

The last administration, the Trump administration, basically provided a certification invoking an emergency to bypass the intent of the law

I literally want to know what loans have been given in my district.

We have an obligation to those folks. And if we pull out over the next five to six months and we leave those people behind, then that`s on us and we`re going to have to live with that.

It’s our sons and daughters, our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters that have been doing the fighting and dying of this war, and they should have a say in making sure that we’re ending in a responsible way.

Yes, it’s certainly an emotional thought to think about the end of this war. First of all, I agree with President Biden that it is time to bring our men and women home, but we have to do so in a responsible way.

I'm just not going to work with them because I'm not going to normalize that extremism. I'm not going to normalize violent rhetoric and stuff that's a threat to democracy as I see it.

If we downplay it, if we normalize and if we say this isn't a big issue, the problem is, is we have these anti-government groups, these extremists who remain a severe national security threat to us.

This is a big problem. And obviously, the President is going to continue to do what he does. But the enablers and people in Congress need to stop.

I mean, he obviously wants to sweep this under the rug. He has always denied that this was a problem or he had any role in it, and I expect that we'll continue to see this.

The filibuster has outlived, long outlived any original purpose it might have.

These assault weapons were designed to do one thing, kill lots of people as quickly as possible. And they are horrifically efficient at doing that. They don`t belong in our streets, in our schools and our movie theaters, in our mosques, in…

We have to push back on immoral behavior, behavior that I think is contrary to our democracy, to our democratic norms, to our values as a society because we can’t be silent in the face of that.

We can’t sweep this under the rug. Even though we have a handful of folk who’s are kind of depraved and, as you said, deranged, who want to try to recast this as something else, it’s very clear what happened here.

This is a brutal attack that we are dealing with on January 6th. It was an insurrection. It was an assault not just on our democracy but on police officers and members of Congress, on staff.

I just asked the question is anything sacred to some of these people?

I have been vocal about that. I have pushed back on it. I have helped, supported amendments to the DOD budget that have prevented that from happening to local law enforcement around the country.
