I would like to yield 3 minutes to the gentlewoman from Texas (Ms. Jackson Lee).

As we talked about yesterday in the committee, it seems like the answer that would move us toward tax reform would mean making the deduction of income tax temporary rather than make them both permanent, moving us away from reform.

I think that is what we can accomplish nationally to improve the viability and the efficiency of school lunch programs across the country.

By increasing nutrition standards, they actually got more families to participate in the lunch program.

I hope that we renew our commitment to healthy and nutritious school lunches across the country.

What we can't do is dismantle the reforms that have helped millions of Americans afford health care, helped tens of thousands of small businesses afford to cover their employees.

With the lowest rate of increase in decades, with more health care choices for small businesses, with millions more Americans being covered by the Affordable Care Act, I think we know that it is working.

I implore members on both sides of the aisle to work together to improve the delivery of health care in this country.

As a former businessman, I agree with your assertion that a boss should do whatever they can to ensure that employees have health care.

I think one of the biggest reasons that the Affordable Care Act led to such a large reduction in the rate of increase of health care cost is because it reduced the number of uninsured.

So without health care, essentially the cost of individuals that are uninsured are foisted onto the rest of us.

The Affordable Care Act is working--for consumers and for businesses.
