Doug Lamborn
The Public Record
Doug Lamborn is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 5th congressional district since January 4, 2007. A member of the Republican Party, he has focused on issues such as military and veterans' affairs, energy policy, and fiscal responsibility during his tenure in Congress. Lamborn has been an advocate for the military presence in Colorado and has worked to support local defense industries. He has also been involved in various legislative efforts aimed at reducing government spending and promoting economic growth in his district.
Yet the American people do not need more empty rhetoric, especially when the agencies and Departments of his Administration will continue forward with their war on jobs and job creators.
This rule was tossed out by the Obama Administration days after taking office, and never fully implemented, simply because they did not like it.
The record is clear--ObamaCare has been a train wreck since its inception. This latest delay is a testament to the poor planning and widespread mismanagement by President Obama and his administration. President Obama's decision to delay…
Last year, the Waldo Canyon fire destroyed 347 homes and killed 2 people. This year the Black Forest fire tragically claimed about 500 homes and 2 lives.
This year marks the second consecutive year that my home State of Colorado and my congressional district has experienced record-setting fires in terms of property lost in a single wildfire.
It is clear that our national forests are in an unhealthy and dangerous state that poses an extreme risk to public safety, water supply, and wildlife, resulting in larger and more intense wildfires.
I object. The Acting CHAIR. Objection is heard. The Clerk will read. The Clerk continued to read. Mr. COHEN (during the reading). I ask unanimous consent, again, that we consider it as read. I think my friend from Colorado who shares my…
I want to agree with what the gentleman from New Jersey, the chairman of the subcommittee, has just said, and I rise in opposition to this amendment. As a member of the Armed Services Committee, we have debated similar concepts recently…
I thank the chairman of the full committee, Representative Hastings. And I'll just reinforce the last point he was making. And I don't believe that the gentleman from Florida intended his language to do this. But it says it is the right…
As I reclaim my time, Mr. Chairman, I reserve the balance of my time. Mr. DeFAZIO. The gentleman would have been accurate had the motion to recommit been worded ``promptly,'' but it was worded ``forthwith,'' so it would only have delayed…
I have an amendment at the desk. The CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: At the end of title I, add the following new section: SEC. 104. RULE OF CONSTRUCTION. Nothing in this Act shall be…
This straightforward amendment ensures that the Interior Department will not allow leases under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to go to any person currently subject to sanctions by the U.S. Government under existing Federal laws…
While the U.S. is blessed with an abundance of energy resources, we are also saddled with an administration that is throwing up barriers to our energy security and economic prosperity. This is why, Mr. Chairman, I rise in strong support of…
I thank the chairman for that and for his leadership on the entire bill. I encourage all of my colleagues to support this simple amendment, and I reserve the balance of my time. Mr. DeFAZIO. I rise in opposition, although I am not opposed…
I do look forward and appreciate the gentleman across the aisle's support of this amendment, and I thank him for his remarks. Mr. Chairman, this is a good amendment. I urge everyone's support, and I yield back the balance of my time. The…
I look forward to receiving the vote of the ranking member. I suppose that means he is in favor of this amendment, so I appreciate and applaud that. This is very similar to the amendment last year, though it is not identical as you stated…
On rollcall No. 236 I inadvertently voted ``nay'' when I intended to Support the Amendment. Amendment No. 20 Offered by Mr. Smith of Washington The Acting CHAIR. The unfinished business is the demand for a recorded vote on the amendment…
I thank the chairman of the full committee. I would urge defeat of this amendment. It would reverse what the Obama administration and Secretary of Defense Hagel came forward with on March 15 of this year. After seeing the North Korean…
I thank the chairman of the full committee. I also appreciate what the chairman of the subcommittee, the gentleman from Alabama (Mr. Rogers), has said. I totally agree with what he has already put forward. Against this amendment, I would…
I thank the chairman of the full committee for yielding me time. I have total respect for my colleague and friend from New York who authored this amendment, but I believe on this one this amendment is misguided and we should defeat it…
I was unavoidably detained due to a family medical emergency and was unable to vote on rollcall No. 212 and rollcall No. 213. Had I been present, I would have voted ``yea'' on rollcall No. 212 and ``yea'' on rollcall No. 213…
Our Federal lands and waters can be part of America's great energy story--and help contribute to job creation and economic growth--if we can only remove the government barriers that keep them off-limits.
The predominant way we can do this is by fostering energy development in new areas.
Unfortunately, their proposed final 5-year offshore leasing plan for 2012 to 2017 to Congress closed off 85 percent of our OCS regions.
