Diana Louise DeGette is a U.S. Representative for Colorado's 1st congressional district, having served since January 3, 1997. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been a prominent advocate for health care reform and women's rights throughout her tenure in Congress. Now, 23 states including Colorado and the District of Columbia are either running their own marketplaces or they are doing a marketplace in partnership with the Federal Government.
I find it really unfortunate that many of these organizations are facing distracting scrutiny while they prepare to begin this important work.
So to sign up on the marketplaces and exchanges, people aren't even going to have to divulge that kind of information.
I find the suggestion that these organizations... are going to prey on people by stealing their identities to be utterly without foundation.
So if somebody wanted, somebody like, for example, a member of Congress, wanted to go on the federal marketplace and look and see what plans were available, they could go on October 1.
