They would grab a pair of pliers on the parts counter, and they would squeeze them, and they were so strong that they would snap the pin in the pliers. I told him that story. He wrote in his letter: Apparently my ancestors wouldn't buy a pair if they didn't stand up to the grip of the man that I can only imagine was pretty strong in the arms. While I'm sure they only broke a few sets and got away with it by being [expletive], I've enclosed a pair as recompense.…
