Mr. Speaker, this week marks 45 years of the Taiwan Relations Act, which has strengthened our partnership with our friends in Taiwan and shaped U.S. foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific. Taiwan is a trusted partner in freedom, democracy, trade, security, and global health. As chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on Indo-Pacific, I have been working to ensure the United States supports Taiwan. I led the Taiwan WHO Act to support Taiwan's participation in the World Health Organization and the World Health Assembly, and the Taiwan Nondiscrimination Act to give Taiwan a seat at the table in the International Monetary Fund. I also led the Arms Exports Delivery Solutions Act, which became law through the NDAA, to track and ensure delivery of backlogged arms sales to Taiwan. Our partnership with Taiwan is more important than ever. ____________________
