It was Jerry Brown, a Democrat not a Republican, who--in a 1992 debate right before the Illinois primary--first said that the then Governor's ``wife's law firm is representing clients before State agencies, his appointees.'' No. 2. It was the New York Times not the Washington Times which published the first article on Whitewater. By the way, that article was summarily dismissed during the campaign by the now infamously incomplete Lyon's report. No. 3. Congress conducted hearings and/or investigations into 25 separate allegations of ethical wrongdoing during the Reagan and Bush administrations.
