But for just the South Algodones, if we have to appropriate additional funding, that is no problem for this body because we do spend money that we do not have, but I guarantee that the check will bounce. The Bureau of Land Management and the Department of the Interior have identified $6 billion in costs. This is the Department of the Interior, not a Republican group. It is the Interior Department itself. Moreover, with the existing National Park boundaries, there are private lands totaling 336 areas that have long been authorized for acquisition, but we could not afford to buy the land. If we pass this bill, we still cannot afford to buy it, but the Federal Government is going to have to come up with new appropriations to buy these lands. That is no problem for this body which loves to spend money.
