We’re in this position because he has lost time and time again in the court, fighting submitting documents to us we feel that are important to our investigation.
The president talked about this extensively. He came to the Capitol. He came to the scene of the crime and gave an anniversary speech on January 6 that was moving.
All of that combined really shows me that he is supportive of our efforts, that he’s supporting of making sure that we do everything we possibly can to protect democracy.
His conversations with those elected officials, his conversations with the then-vice president and the former president, those are all important aspects of what we need to get to the bottom of.
