You will keep the committee posted so we know what we can do, because this is an emerging technology that is really important in getting our economy going.

Our American businesses and our renewable energy industry is going to do nothing but suffer under the weight of this very unfair and weighted practice.
I thank the gentleman for yielding. Madam Speaker, I rise in strong opposition to this bill. A new poll today suggests that the 9-9-9 campaign theme of the new Republican Presidential front-runner is starting to gain traction. And it…
I thank the gentleman for yielding me time. Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to the Colombia trade bill. Trade agreements must be balanced, facilitating reciprocal two-way trade between nations. It's absolutely necessary that we also take…
As we see more and more flower farms and greenhouses closing all over California, this reminds us of the last time we did business with Colombia. This agreement is anti-family business and it's anti-American jobs. I urge a ``no'' vote on…
I thank the gentleman. This is a shot. It is a shot at the endangered species. You and I both know how important this is in regard to the salmon in our district, something that is very, very important, something that is important to our…
The amendment before us today corrects a terrible flaw in the underlying bill, a provision that prohibits the endangered species from being listed as endangered. This provision is so bad that it would be funny but for the dangerous effect…
Remember, you are very well aware of the salmon issue and how there have been a number of attempts over the matter of water that, if they had been successful, had it not been for the Endangered Species Act, there wouldn't be any fish…
I do not want to understate. I just want to point out that if it is a little bit or a lot, that means car loans, the price of a car loan goes up, the price of a home loan goes up, the price of a small business loan goes up.
This legislation is necessary, will enhance the capabilities of the intelligence community, specifically our counterterrorism efforts, and will make our Nation safer. I urge my colleagues to support this bill and thank the members of our…
I thank Mr. Ruppersberger for yielding, and I thank Mr. Ruppersberger and Mr. Rogers for their good work in the committee. As ranking member of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Human Intelligence, Analysis, and Counterintelligence, I'm…
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Again, I want to point out that the majority party has told me and told my staff that the bill that they have offered today, the bill that we are going to be voting on, does not affect the north coast of…
I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 4, line 19, strike the final closed quotation mark and the following period. Page 4, after line 19…
According to this bill's drafters, the legislation would not require leasing permits in the northern California planning area, which is the coastline of my district. My amendment merely makes that clear. Drilling on the north coast of…
I demand a recorded vote. The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to clause 6 of rule XVIII, further proceedings on the amendment offered by the gentleman from California will be postponed. Amendment No. 8 Offered by Mr. Inslee The Acting CHAIR. It is…
I think it is a very, very important thing to do. And this committee certainly has the jurisdiction and responsibility to review this issue.
If H.R. 658 passes, this 4- year FAA reauthorization bill would devastate rural communities across our great country. This legislation completely phases out the Essential Air Service program, rolls back critical funding needed for airport…
It is a fairly sloppy drafting job, and I appreciate the Committee's willingness to hold a hearing on it so at least the American public can hear the consequences of this poorly drafted bill.
I believe we all know the intended consequences of the legislation. That is, to make it harder or near impossible for women across our country to have access to a safe legal medical procedure and one that is protected by the Constitution.
My read of the bill suggests that it raises taxes on millions of American families violating the majority's pledge not to support tax increases.
I think the point that a lot of Members on this side made is that there are a lot of bad people in this country. Some are Baptists, some are atheists.
However, I am confident that even with the cuts, those of you who do it every day will do a good job.
I concur with everyone else who said that this is an issue that we all agree on. We just need to figure out how to get there.
