Mr. Speaker, I rise today in support of House Resolution 1598, a resolution supporting the recognition of National Work and Family Month. This resolution highlights the need to focus on a healthy work and family balance. Study after study has shown that finding the right balance between work responsibilities and family obligations is one of the most important things for all of our workers. Workers who have a better work-family balance have better overall health and have less stress. Children also benefit from having their parents available more often. Employees who are able to spend enough time with their families are happier at work and are more productive than those employees who do not have enough time to spend with their families.
