one of the disgraceful things that happens in this country is that children who work in agriculture are not protected under the same labor laws as children in every other industry.

It is a shame that our children would be used as pawns in a political battle and they would not have coverage for any period of time.

As a mother, I just can't accept that we would send a 7-year-old child who is extremely ill, has uncontrollable seizures, back to Mexico and the deplorable conditions that have been described there.
