She is a member of the Democratic Party and previously served as the U.S. Representative for California's 37th congressional district from January 2011 to December 2022. Bass has focused on issues such as public safety, accessibility, and community engagement throughout her political career.

A full understanding of the Lachman fire response is essential to an accurate accounting of what occurred during the January wildfires.
This puts the former vice president in danger and I look forward to working with the governor to make sure Vice President Harris is safe in Los Angeles.
