I am confident that everyone in this room--no matter their party affiliation--is here to do the hard work needed to leave this country, and our world, better than we found it.
We worked with Congresswoman Judy Chu and helped convince then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to issue the first heat standards in the Nation in 2005 protecting farm workers and other outdoor workers from extreme temperatures.
The only way we can ensure that Maria Isavel, Asuncion, Miguel Angel, and others didn't die in vain is by protecting the workers most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change with a national heat illness standard.
I know that in the United States we have an administration that doesn't want to recognize climate change or climate science, but this administration doesn't represent the views or the value or the character of the United States of America.

I truly appreciate the expertise of our agencies, and also the firsthand testimony of our witnesses.
to me what you show in each of your stories is that you are a stimulus to the economy.
Congresswoman Chu, we need your help and your colleagues' support more than ever before to pass and approve legislation to provide credits to expedite our transition from limited, dirty fossil fuels to unlimited renewables.
Let me ask about the fact that Community Advantage right now is only a pilot program, and therefore it is subject to unexpected changes by the SBA.
In your testimony you said that your default rate is really low, 4 percent or 5 percent.
