There is a matter of the social dislocation caused by the impact of what we are spending here, and I recognize that, as I think all of us should recognize, that in the long run, fossil energy is what we may have to depend upon when all of the more esoteric forms of energy have contributed as much as they can to our economy. Coal, as a practical matter of fact, is still the largest source of energy that we have in this country or in the world, and we might as well learn to get the absolute, most effective use of that coal in the long run without neglecting of course the importance of saving energy, which I cannot quarrel with.
