Today, it was announced that, instead of ending the initial construction segment in the outskirts of Bakersfield, the rail work will now stop just north of Shafter--a full 8 miles of what the original segment was--with still no operating segment that will allow people to travel from one end of the State to the other or even from one end of the valley to the other.…”
