On Monday, May 23, 2011, I was absent during rollcall vote No. 330 due to travel delays. Had I been present, I would have voted ``yea'' on the motion to suspend the rules and agree to H.R. 1627--Honoring American Veterans Act of 2011. This bill codifies the current practices at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) regarding the placement and funding of commemorative monuments, eligibility requirements, and suitability for burial. Those who have served our country honorably deserve a chance to be commemorated at this military cemetery, where veterans and military casualities from each of the nation's wars have been laid to rest.
