I think the tragedy of Boeing 737 MAX doesn't just highlight cultural problems at Boeing regarding production and Boeing's commitment to safety, but I think also highlighted a failure by the FAA to provide appropriate oversight of critical issues that impacted safety and ultimately led to the accidents of both Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines.
