Mr. Speaker, S. 1778, introduced by Senator Lisa Murkowski, would authorize a land conveyance between the Secretary of Agriculture and the City of Craig, Alaska. This legislation authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to acquire approximately 350 acres of land from the city of Craig, Alaska, for addition to the Tongass National Forest. The city would then use the proceeds to acquire 10 acres in downtown Craig to expand its harbor for commercial development. I urge Members to support this important measure.
