I support of H.R. 1119. This bill safeguards that our military will continue to defend the Nation's vital interests. H.R. 1119 ensures that the American military will be ready for the 21st century battlefield. In particular, it adds $2.6 billion to the President's deficient budget request, making for a total of approximately $268.2 billion. The bill is robust in terms of offering a balanced research and development program that will include advanced technologies and improved capabilities. Mr. Speaker, I support my colleagues who voted in favor of H.R. 1119.
