Gavin Christopher Newsom is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the 40th governor of California, a position he has held since January 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Newsom previously served as the mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011 and as the lieutenant governor of California from 2011 to 2019. His tenure as governor has been marked by significant policy initiatives, including efforts to address climate change, housing affordability, and healthcare reform.
We have a President that's not interested in governing, doing the hard work of legislating, working to develop compromise, creating conditions to bring people together.
A 2,000 mile wall is a monument to stupidity, not just vanity, stupidity.
It is the federal government's responsibility. It is the federal government's role.
Creating the conditions and having the decency to move past the politics and the situational politics that is being advanced here in a more sustainable way.
I do want to work with him on emergency preparedness, emergency planning. I do want to rise above this politics and I think that's important.
It's pure political theater. It's a perpetuation of a conversation like you and I are having that we're going to have every single day.
I think a lot of the actions that we've seen over the last few years, by definition are textbook, nativist textbook xenophobic, textbook racists in many respects.
