I do want to see Taiwan involved in the trade negotiations so long as America is out of those negotiations.
I think that it is important that we provide Taiwan the tools to defend itself, but Taiwan needs to act, as well.
I think it is important that we have a resolution that passes overwhelmingly on the floor of the House.
I support the resolution. Happy to co-sponsor it. I think it is important in this resolution not only to urge Russia to do what it should do...
I support that, but with the hope that Russia will respect the territorial integrity of the Ukraine, and nothing would make me happier than for Russia to do the right thing and the President to enjoy his trip to Sochi.
I would call upon everyone who is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee to say, 'Let us bring a foreign affairs resolution to the floor of the House.'
But it is not Russia that is preventing the export of liquefied natural gas. That is a matter of the economic policy and the environmental policy that the administration has substantial control over.
I share the chairwoman's concerns to some degree, but with anything you have to ask, compared to what?
We have an obligation to spend our foreign development dollars as effectively as possible and I am proud to be one of many cosponsors of this bill because this bill will help us be more efficient.
I want to associate myself with the chairman's opening statement and just about everything else that has been said there.
