It is not the executive branch but Congress that has had it right for the last 15 years.

Trade is critically important. That is why we have to get it right which is hard to do when those in power in our country benefit so much whenever we get it wrong.
It is time for us to stand up for American security that includes our economic security.
The fact is if exports create jobs, imports take them away. That is why the change in our trade policy that began in the late 1980s has accompanied the total destruction of the American middle class.
What about the consequence to our constitutional system when the Executive Branch takes the attitude that Congress doesn't know what it is doing, so we are not going to follow the law?
Just one comment for the record, our materials for this hearing talk about preserving our veto at the IMF. We don't have a veto at the IMF.
Just because all the seats are not filled does not mean that this matter is not of critical importance.
99 percent of the bills that the administration does not want on the President's desk are not there due to the hard work of your allies here in Congress.
We have to go with strength and nuance, although frankly I think in this case we need a little bit more strength, a little bit less nuance.
